In the previous post, I shared with information and pictures of the ancient  Bhootnath Temple  of Lord Shiva in Mandi town . Today, I will be giving you an opportunity to see the glimpse of famous and international Shivratri festival held every year in Mandi near the Bhootnath temple. This fair lasts for seven days and starts on the Shivratri day. This fair is attending by hundreds of local deities and millions of people from across the world. It was a great experience for me to attend this fair because I never saw such fair before in my life. If anyone wants to get the glimpse of the life of Pahari people then he needs to visit this fair. Local deities (Gods and Goddesses) from the temples situated in or around Mandi are invited to attend this festival and some deities travel for many days to reach this spot. In the previous post, To Shimla by Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Kunihar , I shared with my experience and some of the pictures taken on the way which shows the beauty of the surrounding. I also told you that for the journey back, I choose NH5 because of bad weather and night time. When I was descending from Shimla towards Solan, then I enjoyed driving through the descending clouds. It was a great experience to drive in the clouds with some drizzling. Below, I am sharing my experience with you through two videos. I always love to travel by the roads less travelled because by doing so I get a chance to see things which are still hidden from the most of people. On my single day journey to Shimla from Ropar (Punjab) for some work, I decided to travel on the State Highway 16 by following the route Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Kunihar instead of going through the National Highway (NH) 5. Not only this route was shorter by 40 KMs, but I was also expecting some adventure on the way. This journey become a quite exciting and thrilling because I was travelling on this route in the month of July on a rainy day. Though, I was aware that this is a single road and I may face landslides if rain continued. Still, I was ready for the adventure and I started my journey early in the morning on Tata Indigo eCS. In this post, I am going to share the experience of my recent visit to famous Rock Cut Temples in Masroor Village of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. This village is about 38 KM away from Kangra Town and here we can see 15 rock-cut temples in Indo-Aryan style. I came to know about this place through the pictures of a friend on Facebook. This place looked very attractive in pictures so I decided to visit this place. I took the route through Dehra town situated at the bank of Beas river. The disadvantage of taking this route is poor road conditions. It is around 35 KM from Dehra. After a journey of one hour from Dehra, I reached the Masroor Rock Cut Temple site. Below watch pictures of famous Chamunda Devi temple situated in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is situated on the Palampur-Dharamshala road and it is 15 KM away from Dharamshala and 24 KM away from Kangra. The main goddess of this temple is Maa Chamunda Devi and people can also find a Shiv Temple below this temple. Every year, large numbers of pilgrims and tourists visit this place to pay respects to Maa Chamunda. This place is situated in the foothills of Dhauladhar; therefore, people can enjoy great scenic beauty around this temple.

Below watch Pictures of famous Kangra Valley Toy Train crossing through railway crossing near Baijnath Himachal Pradesh. This train runs on the Pathankot-Jawalamukhi-Kangra-Palampur-Baijnath-Joginder Nagar route and it is a meter gauge rail line. By Travelling on this train, people can find great opportunity to explore the beauty of Kangra Valley and snow filled Dhauladhar hills. This Train Line is 164 KM long and train movement on this route started in 1929. On the way, people can watch many beautiful landscapes, high bridges, tunnels, rivers, green fields and snow filled hills. This train travels at very slow speed and therefore, it takes much longer time to complete the whole journey as compared to the motor road; however, long time spent on this route does not get wasted because people enjoy beautiful of Kangra Valley. Kasauli is a small hill station situated in Himachal Pradesh. Kasauli is a cantonment and it come under Solan district. Kasauli is situated just 65 KMs away from Chandigarh; therefore, it becomes quite easy to reach Kasauli as compared to other hill stations. Many parts of Kasauli comes under restricted area and one can’t take pictures like Hanuman Temple etc. The main attraction of Kasuali is its fine weather during summer season.
