Sarnath pictures and detail

Sarnath has a great significance on the Indian culture because of its importance for different sections of society. Sarnath is mostly popular as a Buddhist pilgrimage across the world; however, it also holds good significance for the Hindus and Jain community too. Sarnath has a famous Shiva temple where every year millions of Shiva devotees visit to show their respect to Lord Shiva. According to Jain’s Sarnath is the place where Shreyamshanath, the 11th Trithankara achieved asceticism and finally died. However, this place holds much more significance for the Buddhist community because Mahatma Buddha gave his first sermon in Sarnath.
After getting enlightenment in Bodh Gaya Mahatma Buddha reached Sarnath to find his five disciplines and after finding them, he gave his first sermon know as Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta. According to Buddhism Sarnath is one of the four pilgrim sites which every Buddhist many visits in his life. Archaeological Survey of India has rediscovered a number of buried objects of the Buddhist time period. People can easily find the number of these valuable things in the Sarnath Museum. People can also see the original sculpture of four loin faces found in the National Emblem of India by visiting this museum.
Another good attraction of the Sarnath is to visit different Buddhist nation’s monasteries, as one can find here monasteries of China, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, etc. People can also watch here the famous deer park, Buddha temple, and place where Mahatma Buddha gave his first Sermon. All these things and important places make Sarnath an important place to visit. Sarnath is just 10 KM away from the famous Hindu religious town of Varanasi, it is also known as Banaras which is connected by air, rail, and road with all major cities and towns of India.

Beautiful Mahakaleshwar Pandoi Devta ji Temple at Pandoa (Shimla)

You are aware of my road trip on the stretch Nalagrah-Ramshehr-Arki-Basantpur-Luhri -ANNI. When from Basantpur-Tatapani Road, we take a right turn on MDR 22 towards Luhri and Rampur then we follow the Satluj river continuously and get a chance to see communities living near Satluj river and in this valley. We also get a chance to see their culture and beliefs. Today, I am going to talk about the Pandoi Devta temple situated just a few meters away from this road at Pandoa village. Himachal Pradesh can be known as a place of thousands of deities; therefore, we say it the land of Gods. This temple is not visible from the road and you need to take an unpaved road that is 300 meters long to reach this temple. Pandoi Devta temple is a set of one main temple and two Kothis.  At this place, we can find the same style of Shivlinga as we find at the Ujjain; therefore, this place is also known as Mahakaleshwar Pandoi Devta ji Shahib. It is believed that this Shivlinga was created by Pan...

Journey of Beautiful Kangra Fort (Himachal Pradesh) Pictures and Video

Read in Hindi Kangra Fort is one of the largest and famous forts present in Himachal Pradesh. The main attraction of the fort is its strategic location which gives its an advantage over the enemies for many centuries. This fort is constructed on the confluence of two rivers in such a way that it is surrounded by steep natural walls from the three sides. It is believed very few outside attackers were able to win this fort in its long history. A long history of Katoch rulers is also associated with this fort who ruled it for the longest time. It was believed that those who have the fort also have control over this area.  Today, this fort is under the archeological department of India and they have worked well to restore its damaged parts. Kangra Fort is one of the most visited places in the Kangra district after the Masroor Rock Temples . The fort is situated in old part of Kangra city which is just 4 KM away from the main town. This fort was built by the Katoch (Rajput) ruler...

Sidh Baba Garibnath Temple, Androli (Una, India)

I love to cover temples of Himachal Pradesh and Today, I will share with you a beautiful temple situated on the bank of the Govind Sagar Lake near Androli village of Himachal Pradesh, we can find this Shiva temple. It got its name of Sidh baba Garibnath because of a Saint with a similar name who meditated at this place. The unique thing about this temple is that it becomes inaccessible during the monsoon due to a rise in the water levels of Govind Sagar Lake. On any ordinary day, we can reach this temple by road, however, during the rainy season when the water level rises then we need the help of boats to reach this temple. This temple looks beautiful in all conditions whether it is submerged in water or out of water. When the temple is out of the water then it offers a very scenic view of Gobind Sagar lake. Every time, you visit this temple, you can find a different view because of the different water levels in the Gobind Sagar lake.  Image Source - wikimedia  Image Source -...
