Sarnath pictures and detail

Sarnath has a great significance on the Indian culture because of its importance for different sections of society. Sarnath is mostly popular as a Buddhist pilgrimage across the world; however, it also holds good significance for the Hindus and Jain community too. Sarnath has a famous Shiva temple where every year millions of Shiva devotees visit to show their respect to Lord Shiva. According to Jain’s Sarnath is the place where Shreyamshanath, the 11th Trithankara achieved asceticism and finally died. However, this place holds much more significance for the Buddhist community because Mahatma Buddha gave his first sermon in Sarnath.
After getting enlightenment in Bodh Gaya Mahatma Buddha reached Sarnath to find his five disciplines and after finding them, he gave his first sermon know as Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta. According to Buddhism Sarnath is one of the four pilgrim sites which every Buddhist many visits in his life. Archaeological Survey of India has rediscovered a number of buried objects of the Buddhist time period. People can easily find the number of these valuable things in the Sarnath Museum. People can also see the original sculpture of four loin faces found in the National Emblem of India by visiting this museum.
Another good attraction of the Sarnath is to visit different Buddhist nation’s monasteries, as one can find here monasteries of China, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, etc. People can also watch here the famous deer park, Buddha temple, and place where Mahatma Buddha gave his first Sermon. All these things and important places make Sarnath an important place to visit. My Journey to Masroor Rock Cut Temples (Kangra, Himachal Pradesh) with Pictures and Review

In this post, I am going to share the experience of my recent visit to famous Rock Cut Temples in Masroor Village of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. This village is about 38 KM away from Kangra Town and here we can see 15 rock-cut temples in Indo-Aryan style. I came to know about this place through the pictures of a friend on Facebook. This place looked very attractive in pictures so I decided to visit this place. I took the route through Dehra town situated at the bank of Beas river. The disadvantage of taking this route is poor road conditions. It is around 35 KM from Dehra. After a journey of one hour from Dehra, I reached the Masroor Rock Cut Temple site. When you reach the temple site, then you first see the backside of the temples.                                                          Masroor Rock Cut Temples Th...

Kangra Valley (Toy) Train Video and Info

Three years back, I added few pics and info of Kangra Valley Toy Train . This train starts from Pathankot in Pains and ends in Jogindernagar in Hills by traveling a distance of 164 KM. Overall, journey on this train is very interesting and scenic because the train passes through many beautiful locations and high bridges. The train movements on this route started on 1929 and it was constructed by the  then British Government . In winters, one can see snow filled  Dhauladhar hills  while traveling on this train. To Shimla by Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Kunihar (Pics of Beautiful Scenery on the Way and my Experience)

I always love to travel by the roads less travelled because by doing so I get a chance to see things which are still hidden from the most of people. On my single day journey to Shimla from Ropar (Punjab) for some work, I decided to travel on the State Highway 16 by following the route Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Kunihar instead of going through the National Highway (NH) 5. Not only this route was shorter by 40 KMs, but I was also expecting some adventure on the way. This journey become a quite exciting and thrilling because I was travelling on this route in the month of July on a rainy day. Though, I was aware that this is a single road and I may face landslides if rain continued. Still, I was ready for the adventure and I started my journey early in the morning on Tata Indigo eCS. Till nalagarh, I faced heavy rain but rain slowed down as I crossed Nalagarh. The weather was very fine and it was drizzling throughout the journey. Beautiful Scenery on the Way I saw many new places o...
