High Definition Beautiful Pictures of Khajjiar (Lake and ground) Chamba
There will be hardly any person in India who have not heard about the beauty of Khajjiar. Due to its beauty, Khajjiar is also referred to as the mini Switzerland of India. Every year millions of Indian and foreign tourists visit this place. Some stay at this place for a few hours while others stay for one to two days. Khajjiar comes in the Chamba circuit of tourism in Himachal Pradesh and it is one of the most visited places in Himachal Pradesh. In the Chamba circuit, I have already covered the Historical Shakti Devi Wooden Temple Chhatrari. In my review, Khajjiar is definitely a great place to visit and spent some quality time. However, I will advise you to avoid this place during the peak tourist season because you may find yourself crowded with tourists.
I was lucky to have found some free space for myself during my visit. Khajjiar is a very big green grass ground with a small lake that is surrounded by tall deodar trees. Because of the high altitude location, the weather remains pleasant for most of the time. People can find the option of many games and horse riding.
Nearby, we can find a Himachal tourism hotel and restaurant for stay and quality food. There is also the option of some private hotels available too. Khajjiar is a good option for a day stay, however, people need to plan well and should book their hotel in advance at khajjiar or nearby town of Dalhousie which is just 23 KM away.
The unique and amazing thing is to find a so big ground at the hilltop. During the hot summer, it can be difficult to stand in the sun directly.
The small lake present at the Khajjiar is not that famous though people enjoy it and love to take pictures.
It is also amazing to see so tall tree of deodar which are not so easily visible. The wood of these trees is very expensive so the illegal cutting of these trees is very common. Thankfully, here these trees look to be well preserved.

You are aware of my road trip on the stretch Nalagrah-Ramshehr-Arki-Basantpur-Luhri -ANNI. When from Basantpur-Tatapani Road, we take a right turn on MDR 22 towards Luhri and Rampur then we follow the Satluj river continuously and get a chance to see communities living near Satluj river and in this valley. We also get a chance to see their culture and beliefs. Today, I am going to talk about the Pandoi Devta temple situated just a few meters away from this road at Pandoa village. Himachal Pradesh can be known as a place of thousands of deities; therefore, we say it the land of Gods. This temple is not visible from the road and you need to take an unpaved road that is 300 meters long to reach this temple. Pandoi Devta temple is a set of one main temple and two Kothis. At this place, we can find the same style of Shivlinga as we find at the Ujjain; therefore, this place is also known as Mahakaleshwar Pandoi Devta ji Shahib. It is believed that this Shivlinga was created by Pan...
Recently, I stayed in one of guest houses run by TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) in Tirumala. I did online booking for a single room under Rs 500 category from their online booking website www.ttdsevaonline.com. After reaching Tirumala, I did not get any problem in getting a room and system was very smooth so I got room allotment in just 5 minutes. Rooms under this category are average and can accommodate 2 to 5 people. In these rooms, TTD provide two beds with full bedding, two chairs and attached bathroom with Geyser. Room was clean when I entered my room; however, geyser in bathroom was not working plus pillows were not completely clean. Otherwise, it was one of best and economical arrangement available in front of people for stay in Tirumula. Rooms are available in the category of Rs 100, Rs 150, Rs 300, Rs 500 (non AC) and Rs 750, Rs 1000, Rs 3000 (AC). All these rooms can be easily booked online by visiting TTD online booking website (www.ttdsevaonline.com). People from nort...
Last time, I shared my experience of the journey to Shimla through Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Kunihar road . Today, I will discuss with you the Nalagarh-Arki-Basantpur-Luhri road which offers a great thrill to adventure seekers. I have been to Nalagarh many times but I traveled on the Nalagrah-Arki-Basantpur-Luhri stretch for the first time. Nalagarh-Ramshehr-Kunihar road is also a delight for adventure seekers because it is a single road and offers some challenges to drivers. However when we take a turn to Arki and moves towards Basantpur then the level of excitement increases many times. I started from Ropar and moved on NH 205 till Ghanauli and then took turns to Nalagarh road. The condition of this road from Ghanauli to Himachal entry point is very bad and then after the road is fine. After reaching Nalagarh, I took the State highway no. 16 towards Ramshehar. It is a single road but the works for its widening are taking place simultaneously. From Ramshehar, I continued on the S...
On the foot of dhauladhar hills in Kangra district, we can find the Chamunda Mata Temple. This temple is just 19 KM away from Palampur and 25 KM away from Kangra and it is situated on the Dharamshala - Palampur highway. It is a very famous temple of Maa Chamunda and every year millions of devotees visit this place from different parts of India. The temple is situated in a very beautiful location and we can find an ancient Shivalinga beneath a big rock. At present, this temple is going through the work of renovation for the last few years and we can hope to see the completion of work fast. During the Navratras, we can see a great rush of devotees. The Chamunda Mata Temple is considered one of the 51 Shakti Peeths present in India and it is the main reason for so many devotees to come to this temple. The name of the Maa Chamunda is derived from the names of two demons 'Chanda' and 'Munda' who Maa Chamunda killed, therefore, got this name. This temple is located on the ...
