Capital of Himahcal Pradesh, Shimla is a very popular hill station in India and world. Every year, millions of people visit Shimla from across the world to see its beauty. Shimla was once summer’s capital of India during British rule because British were unable to bear hot weather of Delhi. Shimla offers a very pleasant and semi cold weather in summer season because its presence on hill top. Many tourists reach Shimla during summer to get relief from acute heat wave in planes. During winter, temperature become very cold in Shimla and snow takes place. Shimla offer many old architects from the British Time and small toy train runs between Shimla-Kalka route. I always love to travel by the roads less travelled because by doing so I get a chance to see things which are still hidden from the most of people. On my single day journey to Shimla from Ropar (Punjab) for some work, I decided to travel on the State Highway 16 by following the route Nalagarh-Ramshehar-Kunihar instead of going through the National Highway (NH) 5. Not only this route was shorter by 40 KMs, but I was also expecting some adventure on the way. This journey become a quite exciting and thrilling because I was travelling on this route in the month of July on a rainy day. Though, I was aware that this is a single road and I may face landslides if rain continued. Still, I was ready for the adventure and I started my journey early in the morning on Tata Indigo eCS. Till nalagarh, I faced heavy rain but rain slowed down as I crossed Nalagarh. The weather was very fine and it was drizzling throughout the journey.
